The TM20 device is specific only to the MyoWorx® approach. The TM20 device used in MyoWorx® treatment helps to truly unlock the potential for results. Clinical research indicates the use of the TM20 device will get you better sooner.
No: the treatment consists of a series of different frequencies of electrical impulses. You will feel the frequencies but the intensity is monitored. The result is a massage-like sensation that allows many of our clients to ease into a short nap during the treatment.
Your first day at MMTR will include an assessment with one of our physiotherapists. The assessment will be approximately 2 hours in length and involve a variety of tests as applicable; a vision test, a walking treadmill test, several strength tests and a balance test. The physiotherapist will also take your medical history, record various range of motion measures and discuss your current condition.
After you have had an assessment, your physiotherapist will create a treatment plan for you. Your treatment will be approximately 1.5-2 hours long and may or may not be on the same day as the assessment. A typical treatment begins with 30 minutes on our MyoWorx® TM20 device – an electrotherapy machine designed to reduce tension and improve blood flow to tight or injured muscles. Treatment is then concluded with a series of stretches and exercises taught to you by our team of kinesiologists. The exercises are designed to strengthen and relax tight muscles to treat your symptoms at the source.
Terry is not a medical doctor or a physiotherapist. He is actually a neuromuscular and cardiovascular physiologist – that’s what makes our clinic so unique! Terry sometimes works with patients in concurrence with physiotherapy but provides care under separate billing, which is not classified as physiotherapy. When a patient has been discharged from their physiotherapist but continues to receive treatment from Terry (either in person or via Skype™), all their treatments are then classified as MyoWorx® and their physiotherapist is no longer responsible for their care.
MMTR Physiotherapy is currently the only clinic that offers MyoWorxⓇ treatment.

We are registered with Blue Cross®.
You do not need a referral to come to the clinic. However, if you plan to have your treatments covered by insurance, contact your insurance provider to determine if a referral is required for coverage.
Generally, we do not work with WSIB (workplace safety insurance board). However, we are happy to speak with your adjudicator about our program for them to determine if they will pre-approve funding for our treatment program.
Our treatments are covered under extended health benefits in Ontario as physiotherapy only (not massage therapy). For out of province/out of country patients, please check first with your insurer.
No, at this time a deposit is not required.
As a courtesy we request at least 2 weeks notice when cancelling a 2 week stay.
This would be discussed with your physiotherapist before treatment begins. Depending on your condition, the TM20 device may or may not be a factor. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the MyoWorx® treatment as a whole can be applied with or without use of the device.
